My 1080p 55" lcd Toshiba is too smooth?

Keep in mind that the only 1080P software are the blu ray disc movies and some PS3 video games. TV program in HD are only in 720P, some cable or disc network provider does up convert the signal to 1080P but it is not the same. Also not every movie is made the same.
