How can I convince my mom to let me wear thongs?

Im 13, and i literally ust asked my mom if i could get a thong, she said maybe. I was really surprised i got a maybe because i come from a conservative christian family. Tell her its not to be sexy, to fit in or to impress your bf. I told my mom its just underwear, not the end of the world!
