How come killers that were bullied tend to be the worst of the worst?

I watch bios and **** about mobsters like Tommy "Kartate" Pitera and Richard "The Iceman" Kuklinski and they were both bullied and beaten when they were a kid and when the grew up there were like ****** serial killers?
